Franz Ferdinand

Quando, em 2001, Alex Kapranos (Voz e Guitarra), Nick McCarthy (Guitarra), Robert Hardy (Baixo) e Paul Thomson (Bateria) criaram os Franz Ferdinand, estavam longe de imaginar o sucesso que iriam alcançar logo no disco de estreia.

“Franz Ferdinand”, o álbum, valeu-lhes, em 2004, dois NME Awards e o Mercury Prize, graças a singles como “Take me Out” ou “This Fire”. Pouco mais de um ano depois, o mundo assistiu incrédulo à chegada de “You Could Have It So Much Better”. Poucas vezes uma banda foi capaz de editar dois álbuns em tão curto espaço de tempo sem perder a criatividade e o arrojo. Apoiado em músicas capazes de pôr um estádio a cantar em uníssono, como “Do You Want To” e “Walk Away”, o álbum atingiu o primeiro lugar do top de vendas em Inglaterra!

Editado este ano, “Tonight: Franz Ferdinand”, o último álbum da banda de Glasgow, teve no single de avanço, “Ulysses”, um óptimo prenúncio.

Muito elogiado pela crítica especializada, o disco servirá de mote à actuação em Paredes de Coura, dia 30 de Julho.
